Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a 4-6 year associate to join its Copyright, Music, and Entertainment team. The ideal candidate will have experience in negotiating and drafting agreements, managing transactions, and overseeing projects from start to finish. The position requires proficiency in copyright law, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Candidates with experience in licensing, buying, and/or selling music or intellectual property assets, as well as a background in music and entertainment matters, are highly desirable.

Location:

  • Boston, MA

Duties:

  • Negotiate and draft agreements related to copyright and intellectual property.

  • Manage transactions and other projects from inception to completion.

  • Work on music and entertainment-related matters, including licensing and asset transactions.

  • Collaborate with team members and clients to craft creative solutions to complex issues.

  • Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters in the music industry.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in transactional copyright law, preferably with a focus on music and entertainment.

  • Proficiency in copyright law and its application to the music industry.

  • Ability to manage complex transactions and provide strategic legal advice.

  • Experience in licensing, buying, and/or selling intellectual property assets, particularly in music.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the state of practice.

Skills:

  • Expertise in copyright law and intellectual property.

  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and clients.

  • Creativity in developing solutions to complex legal issues.
