Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced litigation counsel to provide exceptional legal services in the areas of trademark, copyright, and entertainment law. The role involves advising clients, handling complex litigation matters, and contributing to the firm’s intellectual property practice.

Location:

  • Chicago, IL

Duties:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on trademark, copyright, and entertainment litigation matters

  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence for use in state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings

  • Prepare and respond to complex discovery requests

  • Negotiate and communicate with opposing counsel

  • Conduct and defend depositions

  • Present oral arguments at hearings

  • Prepare for trial, including drafting exhibit lists, evidentiary objections, and motions in limine

  • Conduct witness preparation and manage trial strategy

  • Draft appellate briefs

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in trademark, copyright, and entertainment litigation and counseling

  • Significant experience with pleadings, discovery, motions practice, and depositions

  • Trial experience is preferred

  • Ability to manage overall litigation and counseling strategy

  • Excellent client service and relationship management skills

  • Strong judgment and communication abilities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities

  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills

  • Effective collaboration and teamwork in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
