Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A Dallas-based law firm with a long-standing presence in the region seeks a driven Associate Attorney to support its partners across civil litigation, family law, and real estate legal matters. This role involves hands-on participation in legal proceedings, including motion practice, hearings, depositions, and mediation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong advocacy skills and a collaborative mindset, working directly with clients and attorneys to advance case strategy and resolution. This position requires in-office attendance and offers a structured, supportive environment conducive to professional growth.

Duties:

  • Assist senior attorneys in drafting legal pleadings, discovery responses, and motions

  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, including temporary orders, injunctions, and depositions

  • Conduct thorough legal research using statutory and case law sources

  • Manage client communications and expectations throughout the litigation process

  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings

  • Coordinate with opposing counsel and court staff to facilitate procedural matters

  • Handle docket management for assigned cases, including discovery and trial prep

  • Analyze legal issues and develop a case strategy in collaboration with partners

  • Supervise paralegal and support staff assignments related to ongoing cases

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in litigation, family law, or real estate law preferred

  • Willingness to handle a diverse caseload and manage multiple legal processes concurrently

  • Demonstrated ability to draft complex legal documents and argue motions effectively

  • Comfortable working in a high-paced, in-person office environment

  • Must be available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical writing ability

  • Excellent verbal communication and advocacy skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

  • Familiarity with legal case management software (e.g., MyCase)

  • Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress and adversarial situations

  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize case deadlines
