Job Overview:

A distinguished family law practice located in Irvine, CA, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Family Law Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. Duties:

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on a wide range of family law cases from initial filings to final resolution

• Draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and California Judicial Council forms

• Organize, review, and respond to discovery requests with assistance from paralegals and support staff

• Maintain case progress and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple active matters

• Exercise sound legal judgment and seek feedback from partners as needed

• Prepare case strategies and assist with trial preparation, including witness coordination and evidentiary support

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel effectively and professionally

• Ensure compliance with California family law procedures and court requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of focused experience in California family law

• Active license to practice law in California and good standing

• Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently while working as part of a team

• Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

• Familiarity with California family law litigation procedures and forms

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active California Bar membership (required)

Founded in 1995 by lawyers established in the Family Law community, this firm has a team of ten lawyers and seven Legal Assistants or Paralegals skilled in handling all aspects of Family Law litigation. They also have a Mediation Center, which offers the highest quality service of its kind in Orange County. They recently expanded to San Diego with a satellite office, and plan to expand that office in a few years. They offer limited scope representation, which allows a client to choose the type of service and, if needed, limit the retainer fees for that service. This firm is unique in Orange County with four lawyers who are Fellows in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and seven lawyers who are Board Certified by the State of California as Family Law Specialists. Their attorneys approach cases strategically when it comes to achieving the client's goals. To ensure that the clients are informed about the status of their cases, they maintain frequent communication with them via email or telephone. Their practice area includes characterization, valuation, division of assets & liabilities, business valuation, determination and tracing of individual property rights, breach of fiduciary duty, child custody/parenting time disputes, child support, and spousal support.
