Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is actively seeking a dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join its Fresno-based team. This role is ideal for a motivated legal professional with trial experience and a strong passion for defending client rights at both state and federal levels. The attorney will manage a diverse caseload, attend hearings, and collaborate closely with legal staff and other attorneys to deliver high-quality defense representation.

Location:

• Fresno, California

Duties:

• Advise clients on legal rights, case options, and judicial procedures

• Draft legal documents including motions, briefs, and client correspondence

• Represent clients in pretrial hearings and criminal trials

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal strategies

• Interview witnesses and gather evidence to build strong defense cases

• Prepare clients for depositions and courtroom appearances

• Analyze legal precedents to predict case outcomes

• Manage and prioritize a full caseload

• Provide strategic legal counsel and develop case defense plans

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal defense law

• Experience with complex criminal cases at the local, state, and federal levels

• Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload

• Collaborative mindset and willingness to support and strategize with peers

• Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of California

• Member in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills:

• Excellent oral and written advocacy skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

• In-depth knowledge of California criminal law and courtroom procedures

• Proficiency in legal research and case law analysis

• High level of professionalism and emotional intelligence when handling sensitive client matters
